Lake District Youth Group Holiday 1988 (Part 3)

We went to Morcambe. I think the Garruds had relatives there, and we were left to amuse ourselves. Unfortunately, Morecambe, on a rainy day, out of season, isn't much fun. And we had been asked not to go to the pub during the holiday (some of the group weren't old enough, so it was unfair that some of us could, while others couldn't).  Travelling with us was a chap called Russell - not part of the Youth Group as far as I know. The thing was, Russell was always smiling, and the joke amongst us was "Does Russell smile in his sleep?" It's ironic that in none of these photos is Russell smiling, and I can answer, Russell does not smile in his sleep! We also sent orienteering at some stage. I remember getting horrendously lost. I have no photos of that!

On the last evening, we were treated to a performance by Dave and Lofty. I know a lot of work went into it (i saw Lofty practising in the dormitory) and by the end of the evening, Dave had us eating out of the palm of his hand!
